The Healing Power of Jesus By A. D. Walter
There is a truth that never changes across generations, cultures, or situations: Jesus still heals.
When we speak about the healing power of Jesus, we are not talking about history alone, we are talking about a present reality. The same Jesus who walked the streets of Galilee still moves today with power to restore broken bodies, wounded hearts, and shattered lives.
“I am the Lord that healeth thee” (Exodus 15:26)
Healing is not an idea God struggles to perform. It is part of His nature. From the Old Testament to the New, God consistently reveals Himself as a healer. And when Jesus came, He made that nature visible in human form.
Jesus and the Ministry of Healing
The Bible says in Acts 10:38 that Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil. Notice that healing was not occasional, it was consistent. Wherever Jesus showed up, sickness lost its authority.
He healed:
- The blind who could not see
- The lepers who were rejected
- The paralyzed who had no strength
- The brokenhearted who had no hope
This tells us something powerful: nothing is too far gone for Him.
Healing is tied to His compassion
In Matthew 14:14, it says, “He had compassion on them and healed their sick.”
Jesus does not heal from a distance of indifference. He heals from a place of compassion. He feels what you feel. He sees what others ignore. And He responds with mercy.
The condition of faith
Many were healed because they believed. The woman with the issue of blood said, “If I can touch the hem of His garment, I shall be made whole” (Mark 5:28). And Jesus responded to her faith.
Faith is not denial of pain, it is trust in power greater than pain.
Healing today
The same Jesus is alive. His power has not reduced. What changes is not His ability, but our response.
Healing today is not only physical. Jesus heals:
- Emotional wounds
- Mental battles
- Spiritual dryness
- Broken identity
Wherever there is brokenness, His power brings wholeness.
Conclusion
So I declare this truth: Jesus is still the healer. Not was the healer. Not used to be the healer.
And if you can believe it, you can receive it.
Because when Jesus steps into a situation, sickness loses its voice, pain loses its authority, and hope rises again.
He is still healing. He is still restoring. He is still Jesus.
